Q. I’ve had my “colors” done before and have already been categorized by a personality/business profiling system.  What makes IlluminEssensce® different?

 A. Have you ever worn something in your “colors” or “seasonal palette” and still feel like it’s not quite right? Color systems that identify your appropriate color palette generally stop at color, often leaving you confused about the styles, design lines, and textures that are most appropriate for your unique self.  And personality or business profiling systems aren’t always relevant; profiling systems are based on questions that you answer based on your own past perceptions, from learned behaviors or even your mood at the time.  Your answers are therefore biased by outside circumstances, events and other influences throughout your life.  What we learn to become, based on our need to survive in society, getting the job done or doing the right thing, does not reflect our true nature, and therefore is not an accurate representation of our true selves.  It’s not surprising that people often feel like they just don’t relate or measure up to the results of a personality profile test.

Q. I’ve heard about using “muscle testing” or kinesiology to determine what colors are best for me.  Does IlluminEssensce use this kind of “scientific” process?

A. Kinesiology works by testing your energy in the moment, which varies from moment to moment, day to day. IlluminEssensce, however, looks at the unchanging part of you that you were born with, which only needs to be uncovered.  It brings forth your particular configuration of vibrational movement, core character traits, innate behavioral impulses and more, which are already part of you and only need to be made visible.

Hoping that there was an “easier” way to assess Core Essensce Tone and to teach others how to do it, IlluminEssensce creator and founder, Taylore B Sinclaire was excited about the prospect of using muscle testing to evaluate one’s Tone.  She began by conducting double blind tests comparing her results against those of trained kinesiology practitioners.   She found no consistency in subjects’ energy responses, so even when testing people repeatedly on the same day, the muscle testing results could vary. 

Eventually, Taylore’s experimentation encompassed more than 150 test subjects in three cities over a 20 year period, to no avail. She concluded that muscle testing is too easily manipulated by uncontrollable factors, such as the condition of the subject’s body and emotions, the state of practitioner’s mind, as well as external distractions and changeable energetics in the environment at that moment. The IlluminEssensce system evaluates that part of you which does not change, no matter what your physical or emotional state and is a complex system to understand.  That’s why the requirements and training for becoming an IlluminEssensce Independent Certified Core Essensce Profiler is so rigorous.

Q.  How do I know if I’m working with an authorized IlluminEssensce Consultant?

A.  Each IlluminEssensce Independent Licensed Master Consultant and Core Essensce Profiler is listed on our website.  If they’re NOT on our website, they’re NOT an IlluminEssensce Independent Consultant or Profiler.

Q.  There are spiritual teachings that say not to give importance to our physical appearance.  Why should I care what I look like?

A.  Your physical self and your operating self are facets of your entire being, your authentic self.  We believe that beauty is inherent in each of us and that beauty is a spiritual quality.  We have witnessed thousands being transformed once in their Tone; they become more alive, present, and participate in the world in a different way – they emanate a different energy that positively affects those around them.

That said, we also agree that our culture puts too much emphasis on the near-worship of physical appearance and being a slave to trends, resulting in crass consumerism.  Our hope is that with IlluminEssensce we can all delight in our own and each other’s beauty, and not feel that we have to be like everyone else.

In other words, have fun with beauty and fashion, be light-hearted about it, and then get over it; don’t be attached to the outcome, just be present.  IlluminEssensce is a wonderful tool to allow you to be present, in your own being-ness, without any ego attachment.   

Q. Once I’ve had my Personal Essensce Tone™ assessed, do I have to get rid of everything in my closet that doesn’t work for my Tone?

A. NO!  Don’t get rid of anything until you’ve had a Closet Inventory and Organization with a Licensed Master Consultant.  There are many adjustments and modifications that can be done to a garment, or even adding new accessories to bring it up to your Tone.

Once you start shopping with your Core Essensce Tone Shopping Fan, you can begin to supplement your wardrobe with the clothing that works in your Tone, weeding out items that don’t support you.  You’ll soon find that you don’t want to wear clothing that’s not in your Tone because it doesn’t feel like the real you!

Q. I’ve heard that how we dress is part of non-verbal communication.  Could you explain more?

A. Research and experts have shown that up to 90% of our communication with others is non-verbal, so our appearance has a significant affect on how others perceive us.  Even when we’re speaking on the phone or sending an email, our appearance influences that communication.  Why?  Because not only does our appearance influence others, it also has an affect on how we perceive ourselves and therefore the energy we emanate.  When we’re feeling better about ourselves, we interact with others in a more positive way. 

Anecdotally, the corporate world is finding the migration to casual dress may be having a negative impact on production and efficiency as well as on hard to measure factors such as how we interact with each other.  In many cases, casual dress has lapsed from “business casual” to “roll out of bed” attire.  We believe that lack of attention to appearance has always taken its psychic toll, but its manifestation in the business arena is shedding some light on just how great a cost that is.

Whether you work in casual attire or more traditional garb, dressing “in Essensce” will make you a better non-verbal communicator, so be ready for people to react to you in a more cooperative and positive manner.

 Q. How does IlluminEssensce relate to the world of quantum physics?

A. Quantum physics has taught us that everything is made up of a vibrating energy field. Human beings emanate their personal vibrational energy.  Shapes, design lines, textures, patterns, colors, scents and sounds emanate similar forms of energies.  IlluminEssensce has grouped these into four distinct categories called Core Essensce Tones, and has a system to identify which grouping radiates your personal energetic vibration.

Q. What if I don’t agree with the Core Essensce Tone I’ve been assigned - what if I don’t like the colors?

A. That’s not uncommon – some people are shocked when they learn their Core Essensce Tone is completely different than what they expected. 

We teach that “like” has nothing to do with energetics or what you are drawn to.  To quote Taylore B Sinclaire, “We are drawn to that which we are not, not to what we are.” Many times we have learned to like certain colors based on outside influences, such as family, mentors, fashion magazines, friends, etc. IlluminEssensce teaches us to “feel” colors on a different level.  As you learn to feel the sense of harmony in your body when wearing your Essensce color radiances, your perception of “like” will change.  For some, this is a gradual shift; for others the feeling is an immediate sensation of relief! Many clients have commented that a color they claimed they hated and would never wear has become their favorite. 

Q. I have my own personal style – I don’t want to lose my independence or end up looking like a “cookie cutter” of my Tone.  Isn’t that what these systems do?

A. There are infinite numbers of ways to express your Essensce (think snowflakes).  IlluminEssensce actually gives you the freedom to wear the clothing that expresses your authentic self rather than being a slave to the latest colors and trends that everyone else is wearing - whether it suits you or not.  Take a look at our real life clients to see how the same Tones look like unique individuals.

Q. Do I have to avoid certain styles or trends – I like wearing the latest fashions!

A. Every Core Essensce Tone can wear all of the latest trends, as long as it’s a “version” of that trend that’s suited to your Tone.  After you’ve become accustomed to dressing in your Tone, you may begin to notice that the newest trends aren’t as important to you, especially those that are extreme and go out of style as fast as they came in.  We have many clients of each Tone who successfully change their clothing to each latest trend.  It is very easy to wear your Essensce and stay updated.

Q. This sounds complicated - and I don’t like having to follow rules!

A. It can feel like that at first, especially if you’re accustomed to buying whatever’s in the store or what a salesperson tries to sell you.  But actually, life becomes so much easier!  The IlluminEssensce system saves you time, money, and stress and gives you a sense of confidence in your appearance.  Shopping is a lot easier when you can quickly glance at a rack to determine whether there’s something there for you.

Q.  Can I wear black?  Can I wear white? What about my favorite colors that aren’t in my Tone?

A.   As with anything in life, it’s always your choice about what you wear.  IlluminEssensce will only assist you in learning what supports you energetically.  If black or white don’t support you, we’ll let you know at the time of your appointment.

Regarding white, every Tone has a version of white that supports them. When whites are shown on your Core Essensce Tone Fan, we advise you to adhere to your version of white (as shown on your Fan). Our research and thousands of clients have proven, when you’re out of your Tone, you will appear older or more tired.

Regarding black, this radiance is stabilizing for some, draining for many.  Your Licensed Master Consultant will test you for black.  Wearing black when it is not in your Core Essensce can depress you and those around you.  Others may not respond well to you in this color radiance.  Of course, there are times that black must be worn, such as a themed party or for work, but know that it’s just a “costume” and not the real you.

When you wear color radiances that aren’t in your Tone, notice how people respond to you, and then notice how you feel at the end of the day.  Leave room for the possibility that clothing in these color radiance won’t remain your favorites.  You will begin to notice the differences between how you feel wearing “in Essensce” versus “out of Essensce” clothing.  Alternately, for your favorite clothing, sometimes items can be dyed to meet your Core Essensce Tone.

Q.  I’ve had my Tone done but my boyfriend doesn’t like my new look. Now what?

A.  Honestly, we’ve had more feedback for the opposite – that family, friends and coworkers are amazed and fully accepting of our clients’ new Toned look.

Changes in any relationship – whether intimate or casual – can stir up strong feelings in those accustomed to the “old” you.  This change can make others uncomfortable initially.  They probably don’t know how to relate to the “new” you, so allow some time for the change to sink in as you both learn to relate differently.  As you become more true to your real self inside and out, others will learn to value you in an entirely new way.  We’ve found for most clients, this process only takes about three weeks.

However, do not become a zealot about your transformation or about IlluminEssensce, as it may drive people away.  Subtle changes over time may make it easier for others to accept the “new” you.

Q. I’m feeling lost, without purpose in my life. 

A. Being misunderstood and not connecting with others causes us to feel we are without purpose.  Therefore it makes sense to be in our Essensce as we feel understood and more connected to others.
